Tokyo Rose
If I were starting a new job, having a supervisor like Kali would scare the fuck out of me, and that's discounting the "murderous android" part and just figuring in the "keeps pulling the Batman teleport and kind of stalking me" part.

Poor Irene...

...and yeah there is something like too quick for recovery.

Poor Irene indeed

*hugs her*

Centcomm 2nd Jun 2014, 3:33 PM edit delete reply

She likes hugs lots :D
mjkj 2nd Jun 2014, 7:27 AM edit delete reply

Did something happen or why was the comic so late?

*is worried*

Centcomm 2nd Jun 2014, 3:31 PM edit delete reply

power failure over at Roses delayed the page. Sorry guys
mjkj 2nd Jun 2014, 7:02 PM edit delete reply

Ah, nothing serious *is relieved* :)
Stormwind13 2nd Jun 2014, 8:10 PM edit delete reply

Well, depends on your definition of SERIOUS, mjkj. It was pushing toward 110 degrees (or 43 degrees Celsius) in Phoenix today... I mean, being in those conditions WITHOUT power would not only be serious, it could be DEADLY. :-p

I'm sure glad Rose got her power back, and not just for the comic's sake. :-)
Sheela 2nd Jun 2014, 10:31 PM edit delete reply

Powerfailures can indeed be pretty serious.
Especially during wintertime, should the heater stop working.

You've never tried cold, until you've tried a house without heat in the winter.
Stormwind13 2nd Jun 2014, 11:06 PM edit delete reply

I've had it happen... ONCE. I then got some backup power generators and portable heaters. :-D
Sheela 3rd Jun 2014, 1:06 PM edit delete reply

Luckily, most modern people never try that.
And that's a good thing too !
jamie59 2nd Jun 2014, 8:18 AM edit delete reply

That's the best kind of attitude.
Centcomm 2nd Jun 2014, 3:31 PM edit delete reply

It really is :D
highlander55 2nd Jun 2014, 8:33 AM edit delete reply

Kali is dressed more for a afternoon party then her kick some ass and take-no-names catsuit she is usually wearing.
Centcomm 2nd Jun 2014, 3:31 PM edit delete reply

Well she does have a life .. such as it is.
Sheela 2nd Jun 2014, 10:32 PM edit delete reply

Kali is a partygirl ?

I'd never have guessed that!
TheD-Wrek 2nd Jun 2014, 9:09 AM edit delete reply

Hmm. Quick recoveries don't always result in the best recoveries... :/
Centcomm 2nd Jun 2014, 3:32 PM edit delete reply

no they dont :D
XRzer04 2nd Jun 2014, 9:29 AM edit delete reply
I want no part of anything that can scare Tokyo Rose...
Centcomm 2nd Jun 2014, 3:32 PM edit delete reply

LOL thats probably smart.
KarToon12 2nd Jun 2014, 9:37 AM edit delete reply

Kali is there to scare you into recovery. XD
Centcomm 2nd Jun 2014, 3:33 PM edit delete reply

She finds the whole thing fascinating :D
Rashala 2nd Jun 2014, 3:57 PM edit delete reply

yeah I have to admit having a job where kali would appear out of thina ir like that would be nerve wracking for a while but that unease would help make sure A person is a good fit for the job if they adapt and learn to master their jerk response then likely they will be a good fit...if not.....well A female killer assassin Android has to have something that makes hergrin other than murdering people.. what other than making some poor underling wet themselves almost at will

Also.... Poor Irene pushing too hard often is the downfall of recovery
Stormwind13 2nd Jun 2014, 4:50 PM edit delete reply

I was thinking that Kali is trying to understand the emotions and attractions of the humans.

Maxus and Irene are bonded in a way that doesn't make logical sense if you look at it from the outside. I mean, look at the size difference between the two. And Maxus is a gladiator fighter, Irene is so NOT a gladiator fighter. :-)

So Kali is trying to observe them, figure out the bond they have is my thought.
Tokyo Rose 2nd Jun 2014, 5:47 PM edit delete reply

Kali has a much greater understanding of human behavior than one might expect given what we've shown so far, but saying much more than that would be charging into spoiler territory and punching myself hurts ;)
Rashala 2nd Jun 2014, 6:32 PM edit delete reply

Why not do what Centy does rose when she has to hit herself.? Walk out a Empty doll of herself and punch it?
highlander55 2nd Jun 2014, 7:42 PM edit delete reply

I think it would be funny as hell to see Rose bitch slap herself!
Stormwind13 2nd Jun 2014, 8:12 PM edit delete reply

I'm not sure that would be SAFE, highlander! I mean that might be one of those situations that the only person SURVIVING it is the one that got embarrassed. Everyone else is going to have an 'accident'.
Stormwind13 2nd Jun 2014, 8:16 PM edit delete reply

Well I'm not shocked that she has a good understanding of human behavior, Rose.

Kali would need it to predict what actions those getting around the royals are most likely going to follow. Very important to a bodyguard, I would think.

I was talking specifically about Irene and Maxus. I mean, they are something of an odd couple. Plus, Kali REALLY wants to understand Maxus, since he is becoming integrated into the lives of the Nova Roma Royal family and the palace. :-)
Rashala 3rd Jun 2014, 7:16 PM edit delete reply

Oh Wait I remember now...the reason Rose doesn't do that.. The Universe can only contain the essence and Being of ONE rose....if she made even an empty android body copy of herself Everything in creation would Implode
Antonious 2nd Jun 2014, 7:23 PM edit delete reply

Maxus is a Guardian. Men of his type have always been the ones standing between us and the darkness. First outside the reach of the fire's light, then atop the walls, and now on the streets while the rest of us stay safe around the fire, within the walls, and in our homes. Guardian is not just a position stated on a piece of paper. Sometimes, it is what you are.
Stormwind13 2nd Jun 2014, 8:05 PM edit delete reply

Well said, Antonius.
XRzer04 3rd Jun 2014, 9:30 AM edit delete reply
It's when those charged with guardianship get the idea that their position means they have all the answers, and entitles them to Rule the People that I begin to have a problem with them.
Not the case here, but who can honestly say they've never seen it go that way?
