Judging by her expression in panel one I'd say Connie is feeling serious trepidation for the revised plan. She's going through with it anyway. Brave girl. I hope this decision doesn't cost her too much in the long run. We haven't known her all that long. She's good people and I, for one, don't want to see her hurt.
well yeah - shes being asked to do something thats publicly humilating and scary... inhibitors are for dangerous or "sick" androids. not healthy sane ones...
She probably won't ever appreciate the fact, but having a working collar is going to provide her with a substantial amount of personal safety in the Nova Roman social environment.
Maybe I'm just blind but I fail to see where she actually agreed to do it. To me it looks more like the Major and Mr. Black made the decision for her instead of letting her even have time to think about it.
This sort of thing actually tends to happen to me a lot offline. "Not happy" is an understatement and a half. Bewildered, flustered, in over her head...frustration, irritation, annoyance, and possibly anger once she realizes how she got left out of the decision...(if this, primarily directed at herself for letting it happen and not putting her foot down)
Now that I think about it, it tends to happen online a lot, too, particularly when a certain mutual acquaintance is involved.
well considering she got almost 4 years worth of salery "paid" in one shot her "body debt" thats a HELL of a bunch of money... it would have taken Connie 5 years to pay off her Body debt.
Great story! Interesting characters, and the tech ramifications are fascinating. I'd keep reading, but I've run out of adjectives, I mean pages, for now....
why thank you! ( btw you can get a free Comic fury account and subscribe to Datachasers - and make sure you never miss a update :D ) and it helps the comic become more popular ( along with the Top web comics voting ! )
First and last panel expressions really do stand out for her. Kind of like a little kid with parents talking about what classes she will have to take in summer school this year.
She got out of having to put up with her old racist boss but now having to wear an inhibitor collar. Bet she feels like going from the frying pan into the fire.
This will be Connie's baptism of fire so to speak. This will help both Mr Black and Connie to trust each other as the future will probably hold many scenarios that will be dangerous. This starts to help them bond a deeper trust in each other. Course, they both have to survive this first one! 0~0
*** Edited - forgot part of it ..

Nor did Connie, who's learning VERY QUICKLY that what Mister Black says and what Mister Black means are not always the same thing.
The layers keep proliferating.
Love it!
Yeah, I sure hope nothing bad will happen to her -- and maybe an emergency shut down of the collar should be build in before they arrive...
[Maybe you could divide your Saga into Volumes and cross correlate by date and time*]
*(Probably too much work though.)
