*sigh*
This would be a good opportunity for Coburn to aid this along, but she insists on self-importance, and wrapping it up in red tape. Andrea would have done better if she didn't get snarky, but I can understand her growing frustration here.
I like Olive's method of handling this. Without it, I fear Centcomm would have to adjust the lighting until high noon!
I, unfortunately, have to second megados' *sigh* and add to it a slow, tired head shake.
There's no surprise for me that Britta doubled down on her perceived or actual "on paper" authority here, but I am disappointed by her behavior. No doubt her efficiency in following regulations earns approval from her superiors, but when it comes to personal growth and "reading the room", as it were, she needs improvement. Being silenced likely won't change her perspective for the better either, but since she's likely not going to be a major part of the story beyond this scene, I have my doubts that we'll ever see whether she gets beyond her foolish pride.
On a side note: Is there any chance we'll ever see Connie again, Centcomm? She's one of my favorites. :)
"On a side note: Is there any chance we'll ever see Connie again," . . .
I can envision a scenario in which Connie comes out with a shepherd's hook and pulls Britta off the stage. XD
To your statement, my frustration comes from my thought that Britta Coburn is probably quite good at her job, and if she could just put her opinions and biases to one side, she could be helpful.
@megados said "my thought that Britta Coburn is probably quite good at her job, and if she could just put her opinions and biases to one side, she could be helpful."
I'm hoping this still happens, but I'm thinking she'll have to be somehow lead to this place/frame of mind before it can happen.
I'm thinking Ms. Coburn feels a great lack of power and/or order in her personal life and tries (probably unconsciously) to make up for it by overcompensating in her professional life.
I like how Seeker Olive has put a damper on Coburn.
...and yeah, Andrea is capable...
